Update on the boys

This is a post mainly for the grandparents and family.  Finn is growing up - he's a toddler no longer, he's now a little boy, and a delightful one at that.  He's curious and active and a lot of fun.  It's a relief to be at a stage where we can reason with him and explain things.  On our recent trip to Italy, he was content to sit in the car during those long day trips knowing that the trip would come to an end at some point.  Unlike our Wilf, who was....less content.
Finn's learning Christmas songs for the Christmas concert his nursery is holding; they are singing 'I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus'.  And, he's almost mastered the ABC song.  It's taken a long time, and for a while there I wasn't sure we'd get passed 'F', but he's pretty much there.  He's into full school mode, so much so that he's taken to calling me 'Miss Mummy'.

Wilf is now 9.5 months.  He's confidently pulling himself up onto tables and chairs.  It's a little harder for him to get back down to a sitting position, but with a few bumps he manages it.  He is also starting to move from the commando crawl on his stomach, to crawling on his knees - no easy task when you are surrounded by polished tile floors.
My mothers' group has two babies the same age as Wilf.  They are both big boys and they look huge compared to our little one.  Partly it's because they both have a lot of hair, and they always come to the mothers' group in skinny jeans, rather than Wilf who is still bald and sporting onesies.  I thought it might be a good time to have him weighed to check he is still on track.  I called the doctor and they came right around (as they do in Egypt).  He weighs 8.8 kg, which puts him just below the 50th percentile.  He's on the 85th percentile for height.  He's doing well and he's just starting to throw his weight around - food, toys, other things - he lets us know what he's after.
